James 1 | Read in NIV YouVersion

We are continuing our series entitled "Body Language: Building One Another up in the Body of Christ." This week, we will focus on the importance of being quick to listen.

Pause for Reflection:

Today's passage allows you to read the verses Sunday's sermon will feature in their context. Allow God to have time to say anything He would like for you to hear today.
Here are some ideas to carve out extra time for listening:

* go on a quiet walk (the church land trails would be a great location!)
* go on a drive in the countryside with no agenda; ask the Lord to sit next to you and speak
* put on some instrumental worship music, grab a pen and paper, and just sit; if anything comes to your heart, write it down
* sit outside at dusk for at least half an hour with nothing in your hands (except maybe a cup of hot tea)

Pray for the Living Faith Elder Board to listen to the voice of God and have the courage to obey anything He asks.

Pray for local government officials.
