Scripture Passage for Today...

Matthew 22:34-40 | Read in NIV YouVersion
We recently read the entire chapter in one of our devotions, but today we are focusing on six world-changing verses. Before you read the passage, answer this question: On a scale of 1-10 , how well do you love yourself?

Going Deeper...

This coming Sunday's message will be centered on having right relationships. Today’s passage emphasizes the importance of interacting with others according to God's principles.

Questions for Reflection: It is difficult to fulfill Jesus' desires for how we are to treat one another if we first do not know how to rightly love the person He made you to be. You must first see yourself as God sees you, with great love and compassion, if you are going to be able to extend that kind of grace and acceptance to others. Is there any place where you hold self-hatred in your heart? Spend some time asking God that question and allowing Him to point out anything He sees. If it leads to an area of pain, don't be afraid to reach out to a trusted friend for help. Often others have a more accurate view of us than we do and can help us re-align our vision to God's truth.
