Zechariah 9:9-12 | Read in NIV YouVersion

This week, we begin preparing our hearts for Easter as we study the steps Jesus took towards Jerusalem and the cross. Today's passage highlights one of the prophetic words in the Old Testament Jesus' sacrifice would fulfill.

Pause for Reflection:
How does the prophecy of the humble king in verses 9-10 relate to the New Testament depiction of Jesus Christ? In today's context, how can we identify with the 'prisoners of hope' referred to in verse 12?  In what ways can we practically express rejoicing and shouting, as Zion and Jerusalem are instructed to do at the coming of their king (verse 9)? 

Pray for the finances of Living Faith today. Pray that the Lord will make a way for us to do everything He has called us to do.

Pray for local economies and businesses. Pray that commerce in our region will be healthy and that people will have opportunity for good employment here.
