Luke 9:1-51 | Read in NIV YouVersion

This week, we begin preparing our hearts for Easter as we study the steps Jesus took towards Jerusalem and the cross. Today's passage begins to chronicle his journey timeline.

Pause for Reflection:
This passage shows the confusion people encountered as they tried to wrestle with who Jesus was and what he came to do. In what ways do you relate to the following people's confusion and how would you counsel them to find clarity if you could sit down with them over coffee:
1) Herod when he heard the news of the teaching of the 12
2) Peter at the Transfiguation
3) The disciples when Jesus warned them of his coming death

Verse 51 tells us that Jesus set his face "resolutely" towards Jerusalem. Other translations will indicate his face was set "like flint (stone)," indicating he would not be swayed. Has there been a time in your life you were so sure God called you to something that you set your face to it resolutely? What fruit came of that? Is there an area He might be doing that now?

Pray for the physical health of church members. Pray for individual needs as they come to mind.

Pray for the Elkhart County Jail Ministry. Pray for them to have a good number of volunteers to partner with their mission.
